Services
Acoustic test and measurement using a large anechoic chamber, Doak Laboratory, audio lab and reverberation chambers; the institute also describes a low-noise open-jet wind tunnel for measuring self-noise of aerofoils and other objects. Some specialised facilities are available to industry partners.
Equipment
The large anechoic room has a usable volume of 295 cubic metres and 2.0 m by 2.4 m doors; the Doak Laboratory air supply can reach 20 bar; the open-jet wind tunnel and acoustic chambers are identified by the operator.
Standards
The reviewed operator pages do not state a facility accreditation schedule. The separate facility page identifies listening-room conditions to IEC 268-13 and BS 4860 Part 13.
