Equipment
UKAS schedule/page states tensile forces 1–100 kN ambient and 1–50 kN to 1000°C; compression 1–250 kN ambient and up to 70 kN to 1100°C; CMM envelope 900 x 900 x 700 mm with stated best measurement capability; XRD and hole-drilling strain-gauge residual stress methods. FutureForge includes a 2,000-tonne press for forging R&D but is retained only as capability context.
Standards
UKAS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for mechanical testing and residual stress analysis; ISO 9001:2015 stated by NMIS. Published methods include ASTM E837-20, ASTM E8/E8M-22, ASTM E21-20 and NPL Good Practice Guides 3, 41, 43, 52.
