Review environmental qualification test coverage
Arc Skills maps environmental requirements and the project profile to actual qualification reports. It returns exposure-level coverage, separating survival evidence from operation and identifying configuration gaps.
Use this skill
Use Arc Skills to review environmental qualification coverage for the supplied product.
Inputs:
- Requirements and approved environment profile with revisions
- Qualification plan, article configuration, and test or analysis reports
- Required operating and storage modes, sequence, and post-exposure checks
Return an exposure matrix with required condition, applied condition, article, function, evidence, and gap.
Use only project-approved levels and durations. Distinguish survival from active operationWhat you provide and what you get
| What you have | How it is used | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Environment basis | Defines approved extremes, modes, and sequence | Required exposure list |
| Article and report | Shows actual configuration and applied conditions | Evidence applicability |
| Functional records | Shows survival or operation at each condition | Coverage verdict |
Cold storage passed; cold operation unproved
Illustrative engineering example.
R-21 requires operation over a temperature range. E-21 reports cold storage survival and nominal-temperature operation on the qualification article, but records no operation at the cold end.
R-21: Controller shall operate from −20 °C to +50 °C.
Article Q-1, firmware 2.0; target build firmware 2.0.
E-21: storage at −20 °C survived; functional run at +20 °C passed.
Approved profile hot operation record: [not supplied].| Required exposure / mode | Evidence | Coverage decision |
|---|---|---|
| −20 °C operation | E-21 cold storage survival only; Q-1 | Gap: no functional observation while cold. |
| +20 °C operation | E-21 functional run passed; Q-1 | Covered at nominal point only. |
| +50 °C operation | No record supplied | Unassessed; locate hot functional test or justified analysis. |
The requirement verb is operate. Surviving storage at −20 °C does not demonstrate the Controller performs required functions at −20 °C, even though the article and firmware match.
The three exposure rows show one nominal operating point supported, one cold-mode gap, and one hot-end unknown. The approved qualification plan must establish required duration, sequence, and any allowed analysis before final coverage can be judged.
Match condition and required behavior
- Pin the approved environment profile, tailoring, and article philosophy.
- List each required exposure, mode, duration, and post-exposure check.
- Compare actual applied conditions and functional observations on the qualified article.
- Flag missing extremes, sequence breaks, and later design changes separately.
Questions about this task
Does cold storage qualify cold operation?
No. Survival after storage and active function while cold are different claims.
Can a standard profile fill an absent project value?
No. Use the project-approved environmental basis and tailoring for the actual levels and duration.
