Arc Skills / Technical management and design reviews

Prepare a test readiness review

Use Arc Skills to prepare a test readiness review for a defined article, procedure and campaign. The output checks whether the planned execution can safely produce valid evidence, with owner actions for configuration, instrumentation, criteria and recovery gaps.

Use this skill

Use Arc Skills to prepare a test readiness review.

Inputs:
- Test objectives, requirements and approved procedure
- Article, facility and instrumentation configurations
- Acceptance/abort criteria, data plan, anomalies and review criteria

Return a TRR readiness matrix, evidence index and pre-execution actions. Identify what affects safety, validity or coverage. Name owners and required closure evidence for conditional recommendations.

A ready chamber is not a ready thermal test

Illustrative engineering example.

A thermal campaign has a reserved facility and an approved temperature profile. Article identity, a critical sensor and abort authority are not yet resolved.

Procedure TP-14 rev C names firmware F3; article SN-06 runs F4.
Chamber calibrated; instrument S2 certificate expired and no current result supplied.
Acceptance limits controlled in REQ-T; abort limit references [TBD].
Raw-data storage and timestamps defined; abort authority not assigned.
A ready chamber is not a ready thermal test

Article applicabilitySN-06 F4 versus procedure F3Configuration mismatch needs dispositionVerification owner checks F3 → F4 effect and approves intended article baseline
Critical instrumentationS2 lacks current calibration evidenceValidity of its measured quantity unresolvedInstrumentation owner supplies current calibration or a validated replacement
Abort conditionsLimit [TBD]; authority absentTest-control gap for planned executionTest and safety owners define limits, authority and response before running
Data captureRaw-data location, channels and timestamp basis definedAvailable plan covers the supplied data needsPerform the documented acquisition check and retain configuration record

The test is not ready merely because the chamber is booked and the procedure has an approval mark. The F4 article can affect applicability; missing calibration can affect data validity; unresolved abort control affects the execution decision.

A conditional recommendation must say what must close before execution, who owns it and which evidence demonstrates closure. “Complete before test” without a criterion does not support an auditable readiness decision.

Check the exact planned execution

  1. Map objectives and acceptance criteria to requirements and procedure conditions.
  2. Compare actual article, software, facility, instruments and fixtures with the planned baseline.
  3. Inspect raw-data capture, time basis, calibration, anomalies, abort controls and recovery roles.
  4. Identify pre-execution closure evidence and route the recommendation through the project’s TRR authority.

Questions about this task

Can a TRR be passed with conditions?

Where the governing process allows it, conditions need an owner and specific closure evidence before the affected execution. Unresolved controls cannot be hidden behind a generic conditional label.
